Steering Position Sensor Replacement
I keep getting a 1287 code which is the steering position sensor so I figure that it is toast. Has anyone out there replaced this and if so do you have any pics or procedure. I did a search but could see what i was looking for.

Do a search in C5 Tech for Steering Position Sensor. There is a very good write up by Mathia!

It helps to have an extra pair of hands when you feed the column back through the firewall. Took the two of us about an hour!

I have instructions with pics in Word format. PM me you email address and I will send them to you. Word of warning, it isn't that hard of a job unless you have power telescopic steering wheel then it is a PIA. It took Cobra4b and me almost 6 hours to switch mine out and still haven't gotten the telescoping mechanism hooked back up.

Yea, the motor sits on the steering column down by the fire wall and it is hard as he!! to get it out and back in place due to the lack of room. If I was to do it again I think I would have paid someone else to do the work and you wont hear me say that very often.

I have the telescoping wheel and decided to have it done by the stealership because of the telescopic function....
