Default Typical shock absorber life

I've got a 2000 with the base suspension (Sachs shocks) and 34k easy miles. What's the usual life for these shocks? Should I think about replacements (C6Z06 of course, HeHe). They aren't leaking, but my buttometer tells me they seem a bit harsher now over uneven pavement.

tks,
DG

I wouldn't think that 34K easy miles is too much on the shocks, you might consider your tires. I replaced the GY/RF's with Firestones. Big Difference in ride and Handling.

Thanks, Mellow.
Good point on the tires. I mounted Bridgestone Pole Positions at 20k and it was like night and day. But now they are about 4 years old, so they may be the culprits. Time to do some burnouts I guess!!!!

50 - 75K is usually a good range depending on driving conditions.
