Hello guys how do I dis-assemble a alternator I have a good case that I want to have chromed. I cant find info on how to take apart any help would be great. A link to a page or step by step instructions would be helpfull

I can't help you, but I know someone who may be able to point you in the right direction. PM Cajundude@EnglandGreen. Jason has disassembled his and had it chrome plated.
BTW, he's a forum vendor and that's his forum name not a website address.
Looks like the only additional steps to be taken in order to chrome plate the housings would be the removal of the bearings from the case halves. Correct?

In past years I have disassembled and rebuilt several of the older designed 10SI GM alternators, and the bearings were not particularly hard to deal with and were easily found in most auto part stores. The front bearing was a ball-bearing design held in by a retainer plate (3 screws) and the rear was a "needle" roller bearing design that was pressed into the rear case half. Since I have not had occasion to jump into these newer designed units, I didn't want assume the bearing set-up is the same or easy to deal with. My suspicion is they should pose no problem to replace/remove.
