Steering Wheel Squeak / Rattle
I have a 2000 FRC with just about 12,000 miles on it. There's a noticeable squeak in the steering wheel, right at the bottom it seems. I've read the post about lubing a bushing from the firewall. I guess before I go that route, I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
The squeak goes away whenever I pull down on the steering wheel somewhat forcefully. As soon as I let the pressure off, it squeaks again. Sometimes it sounds like a rattle, too. Like there's plastic coming off around the steering wheel. There's also a minor squeak when turning. I'm not sure if that's related.
Anyone here have these same issues and fix it by lubing the bushing through the firewall? Anyone have the rattle/squeak and fix it another way...?
Thanks in advance for your input.
Regards,
Rossi
