Have u guys seen that informerical for the Tornado, that you stick in your air intake.. wondering if you can put it on vettes and get the super duper HP increase they claim on tv. hahaha i love late night infomericans.. as it had an old lady with a 3 cylinder Geo saying the mech who was working on it, took it out and came back with a cop and a ticket cause of the Tornado.. now made a Geo a speed demon.. ooo what could it do to a vette? and are any cars really 3 cylinders.. i think she was mistaken!
Remember you old timers the ad's in the rear of every Popular Mechanics mag (I'm talking about the 50's and 60's) that advertise a water injection system that improved gas mileage up to > 50 mpg?
Also, what about Split Fire sparkplugs? If they are so great for more HP as advertised, then why don't you see all the racers using them? You don’t because they work no better than a regular plug.
I imagine the Tornado is the same type of scam. Similar to these passive radar scramblers that have been sold for years.
Actually there may be some possible benefit on a car with a wet manifold (fuel travels with the air through the manifold) by helping to keep the fuel atomized and preventing puddling. Beyond that there is not much chance that this thing would have any benefit.
Hi all,
Are these the pretty little things you can use to increase your H.P "but wait, that's not all", and make wonderfully pleasant cake mold shapes with?   :D :D :D
Yes, there ARE three cylinder cars... but, the Tornado? Duh... you got to be kidding! If you're spending your time watching their infomercials, you definitely have to get a life. Good grief, you apparently have a Vette--go watch it! :yesnod:
BTW, the best place to "stick the Tornado" is in the maker's "exhaust," so to speak.
He he, I saw the infomercials for it too. If your air passages were a short tube, it prolly would help a little at least. but after it passes your intake manifold, it'll just create a little turbulence. I like the nice touch about a guy owning a Corvette and getting lots of HP and mpg!
