Default Need Input on X-Pipe Installation

Here is my "plan of attack," please let me know if I'm forgetting something or over-looking something. I'm going to try to install a B&B X-pipe on my 02 6sp coupe. It currently has the stock exhaust manifold, the stock H pipe, and a B&B bullet exhaust.

1. Car on 4 jack stands, hold X-pipe even with where it bolts to the bullets and mark H-pipe for the cut. I'll mark it just before where the X-pipe slip joint narrows so as to maximize the amount of overlap at the slip joint.

2. remove bolts connecting bullet to the H-pipe. Using a chain tubing cutter, cut the H-pipe at my marks. Apply bandaid to head where H-pipe dropped on me.

3. Put clamps on X-pipe and slip it on. Snug clamps a little. Bolt the other end to the bullets.

4. Line up the tips, then tighten the clamps, then the bolts.

5. Have a frosty cold adult beverage...

Am I over-looking anything? Thanks for your input!!

Sounds good but you may need to adjust your cut length as those pipes tend to have a tight fit with the h-pipe and, sometimes, you're not able to slide the x-pipe all the way over the h-pipe cut ends, leaving the x-pipe a bit long. You could hammer the x-pipe on from the flange ends, if necessary, but I prefer to have a snug fit, but one I can remove later without having to resort to heating.

Lining up the cat backs after is usually a process of tightening front to back. I support the catback tips to keep them aligned using the method shown below.
