Bought a Canton direct OEM replacement coolant overflow tank to replace the plastic one which keeps leaking... However, it doesn't have a place to plug in the connector for the fluid level sensor... What can I do, I don't want a light on the dash or a message about low coolant if I don't plug this connector in... What is my solution? Return the canton product or is there another option?

I'd return it. I've never understood the Canton tank for anything but an all out race car. You could fool the level sensor, but you still can't verify the fluid level without popping the cap, since the tank is aluminum. The factory replacement costs 1/3 the price of a Canton(not including the price of a new cap since your factory cap will no longer work).
Canton tank would be good if it was a true OEM.... (Hint:Sensor).... Reason I wanted to go with it, is because the factory on has split at the seem between the top and bottom peice 3 times now, this is the 4th tank that would be going in... $90 a pop x 3... I'd much rather spend for Canton and never replace again, cause it makes a heck of a mess everytime.... The Cap is something that didn't come with the tank which is odd, I should call canton tomorrow and see what there story is... Can't advertise as Direct OEM Replacement, if you got no cap or sensor setup... It will probably go back, but what is another option for me... I don't want to put in another factory tank...

I believe the factory replacement tank is available from GMpartshouse for $54. As far as the Canton tank cap, they do say it is an OEM replacement, but you have to read the fine print and look at the pic. It takes an old style radiator cap which is clearly seen in the picture. As far as other options, I'm not sure. I'm more curious to understand why your tanks keep self destructing. I guess I just like the quick visual to assess coolant level too.
Well, not really wanting to deal with the mess anymore, so definetly not going OEM again... Heat is causing seperation in my own opinion... It's hot in Texas... 110 -115 heat index a number of times... this past summer... engine bay got warm this past summer... Motor got to 248 a couple times this year with A/C on.. Car has 125K on it so...
The new tank comes with a new cap... You need an extra one??
, no partner....I was just wondering. Well, I suppose you could try to modify the Canton tank to accept the sensor, otherwise, you won't know if you are low on coolant(which sounds especially important where you live).
