Default Gas Escaping through the Exhaust.

I've had my ZO6 sitting for a few months. Right before I parked my Vette for a few months someone ran into my passenger fender and damaged a few things, and his insurance company paided for the damages and it's been repaired. I'm also thinking they might not have wired something back correctly and maybe that could have caused this. I came back last week to start it up and it acted as if it needed a starter and once it finally decided to turn over it started spitting gas throughout the exhaust. It has never done this before and I'm not sure of what have caused this. My ZO6 only has 44k miles and it's never given me any problems except for now. Has anyone else on the forum experienced anything like this? Someone please give me some advice on what the problem maybe.

The exhaust is spitting pure liquid gasoline? And the car is running normally? I'm betting condensation.

Yeah, we need a better description of the source of the gas at the time. On the '99 that I gave away, there is a fuel tank vent valve that is right under the right rear fender. Its fed from a hard tube from the left side fuel tank. Its white and plastic. You can easily see it, (if applicable for your year of car) by removing the right tail light/brake light lense and use a flashlight.

I'm with Lucky and betting condensation since it was parked for so long. Did you use the taste test to determine it was gasoline?

No way it's gasoline. It would have blown up in your exhaust and rendered you catless at the very least.
