2002 ls6 cam
Looking for oppinions on the LS6 cam. I have a 2000 C5. Mods include an LS6 intake and LG street Headers and high flow cats. I have a mild cam in it (220/224/114 .551,.551). I am considering putting an LS6 cam in when I install a set of LS6 heads as I would like a smoother idle. The car currently makes about 360 rwhp. Do you think I would lose much going to the LS6 cam with the new heads?

I'm curious, did you have an power goals when you started modding your car, if so, what is it? are you auto? where's your idle set to? have you tries raising it to smoothing it out?
Just seem like tedious downgrade to replace a 220/224 before trying the basics.

I wouldn't mess with the LS6 cam either--What you have now is so much more responsive and fun to drive--I have a similar cam and it can be made to purr like a kitten and be un-noticeable with tweaking a few tables--Set the desired idle around 800--add 2-3 degrees timing in the "base timing table" for both P/N and In Gear to start--

You will probably end up in the same ball park as far as HP goes. The cam you have now has nearly the same specs as a 03-04 Z cam, only little difference is the lsa. Yours 114, Z 116.5 . It's your lsa that causes a tad of chop. A stock Z has a commanded idle RPM of 800. Just an FYI.
