Great shocks for your c-5
I got the Gene Culley, GM Parts House deal on C-6 Z06 shocks for my C-5 recently and wanted to report on my satisfaction with the deal!
I have a soft ride, FE-1 susp. 2000 coupe, 56,000 miles that was getting a little sloppy on the turns and hopping pavement conditions.
The parts came fast, and well packaged. It was a good fit, but it was easy to get the old skinny shocks off and out, but more difficult to get the new beefier shocks in.. They are maybe 3/8 of an inch thicker than the old stock ones.
I was concerned that Z-06 shocks might be a bit too stiff for me, who was used to the soft ride suspension. On the contrary, they feel firm and sure footed, but do not take away any ride quality, a truly great road feel!
Gene's deal is super reasonable, and I would highly recommend it for any C-5 owner contemplating new shocks. This is AC/Delco OEM design quality at less cost than Biltstein shocks from the various Corvettte catalog houses.
