Default Bilstein shocks - selective ride (override)

I have the 03' 50th Anniv Convert with selective ride. Looking to replace the factory shocks with Bilstein's.

As the Bilstein web site states: Note: If your Corvette is equipped with the electronic suspension option installation of this shock will eliminate the option. This shock is permanently set in the sport mode and will trigger a warning light on your car's dash display. This warning code can be simply removed by your local dealer or service technician.

Is this true (simply removed) ? Or do you need to buy the chip for the Non selective ride and flash it or something else?

I have read you can have the dealership go into your system with their Tech 2 and they are able to turn it off, or you can buy/build some resistors to trick the computer. I know if you search you can find a thread showing how to build the resistors from parts @ Radio Shack. I did this method and it worked.

If by "selective ride" you mean the F45 option you can eliminate it yourself. all you need to do is go to Radio shack and buy 4 WIRE WOUND ( been awhile since I last did this I THINK we used 25 ohm, 20 watt resistors) resistors. You DO NOT need to :
go to the dealer
disconent the control unit
have the car retuned or
remove anything but the old shocks from the car.

Do a search for "delete F45" and you should be able to confirm the size of the resistors. I've done this mod on 3 different C5's and over the past 2 1/2 years no one has had ANY PROBLEMS.

A Tech II in the right hands can delete the F45 code

2003 = F55 MSRC, not F45 Selective Ride. Do a search for F55 delete. The procedure is different from the F45 delete, but it will still require use of a Tech II computer (usually only found at dealers) to change settings in the BCM. Tuning software only works on the PCM (engine computer) so it will not help, nor will a chip. Also, according to this post, the resistor trick won't work.
