Getting my new Bridgestone S03 Pole Positions mounted tomorrow. Right now, with the original runcraps, my 99 C5 tracks perfectly...no pulling and the steering wheel is centered just like on day one.
So...my question is: is an alignment something you do just for preventive maintenance...or do I follow the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought? Again, it's a 99 with 30k miles and all tires have even wear.
Whenever I replace tires, or change the suspension, I have the car aligned. And yes, a four wheel alignment is recommended. I found a good Corvette shop locally that has the computer alignment machine. I don't know if any of the chain type stores have this or not. Open the Yellow Pages and let your fingers do the walking!! Eric
I got those tires put on last week - you will enjoy them! You will want to go to a place that has Hunter tire gear for the install, and a shop that put out the $$$ for that stuff should be able to do a good four wheel alignment. I'm getting mine done to Z06 specs.
Getting an alignment once a year is like changing your oil at 5k (maybe 3k for you garage queens :p: ), it may not be necessary, but it can't hurt.
