Default AC problems - air blender??

I took the car to a mechanic to have the R134A checked and it looks like it's ok. The compressor seems to be engaging and the liquid line is getting cold. The mechanic suggested some sort of DC blender motor in the dash could be the problem. Anyone have any experience with this?

Thanks!

I apologize. The AC is blowing nothing but hot air. It seems like the air is equally warm on either side of the car. The AC was working great then just started blowing hot one night. No symptoms, sounds, etc. Any ideas?

No HVAC codes. I also should have mentioned that I do not have the dual-zone controls and my manual controls are able to switch between defroster, dash, and floor. I believe this is controlled off the little vacuum line on the back of the intake.

Do vehicles w/o the dual-zone climate system have these actuators? Will the failure of these actuators always cause codes? Also, both passenger & driver side vents are blowing hot.
