Default Gauge Bezel Install

I am in the process of installing gauge bezels, when I removed the cluster this fell on the floor mat, does anyone know where this small eliptical black piece cam from?

Yup, it goes around a stud, it fell out when you removed the bracket to lower the steering column. I'll see if I can come up with a pic.

Thanks for the picture

I assume it slides in from the bottom?
Is there only one, used on the stud closest to the drivers door?

I looked at the other stud on the passenger side of the steering wheel and there is not a plastic piece on it.

My labeling in the picture is wrong sorry, you wouldn't be able to see where i was referring to. Now I do not know why but the 2004 manual only shows one bushing that goes on the right hand side/passenger side of the steering column. I ran into the same problem as you that is why I remembered what is was. Fortunately I have a 2004 service manual and it showed where it went. It goes on the stud closeset to the passenger side.

Why there is only one you got me. I'll post a pic from the manual

Hope this helps it's kind of blury, but you can just slide it in from the bottom, Probably will have to makes sure the other nut is loose, to get it to seat properly. Your rubber piece is item #1
