The chirping from under the hood started almost right after the warranty ran out (naturally), and persisted until it was a full-on squeal yesterday.
So I stopped and bought the requisite idler pulley and belt and put them on per the TSB. It was amazingly easy - I was done in 10 minutes. Parts were $96 with tax. I could have gotten them cheaper online, but the extra $25 was worth the convenience of getting this resolved ASAP.
Anybody wanting to avoid a dealer visit for this shouldn't hesitate. You only need a 15mm socket wrench for the whole job.
Re: Finally fixed that pesky squeaking/squealing (lotzahp)
Mine started doing the same thing Sat. I took it in yesterday and of course they didn't have the part so I had to bring it back today. This will be the 3rd idler pulley in 24k miles! :mad
