Crank Position Sensor Relearn
Hey guys/gals, I just replaced my clutch (on my 2000) and now the car runs like crap, it pops and shoots flames out the exhaust. The Snap-On scanner tool that our shop has reads a DTC P1366 code and I was wondering if I can reset it without towing it to a Chev dealership.

Ok, you got me. What is a P1366. I do not even show that as a valid DTC code for a 2000.
Ok, you must mean P1336. Even so, that code was not applicable for 2000. It started in 2001. Maybe you got an early PCM? Anyway, can you verify the code through the DTC and not the scanner?
I would start by inspecting the connector and wiring going to the CKP to see if it was disturbed or damaged in the course of your work.

I'll ask my tech again, I could be wrong (like that's never happened.)

Yeah, I just checked Mitchell On Demand, it is P1336. I'll check the DIC tomorrow and see what I come up with.
A little history on my car though. It is a flood salvage from Indiana so the PCM could've been changed but even so it would've had to have been nothing newer than a 2000.

Like I said, start with a physical inspection of the CKP wiring and connector for damage, etc. Especially since the car was just worked on. I take it the car was in running condition before the clutch change.

Did you ever figure out the crank sensor problem?
I've got the same problem on my C5.
DTC indicates crankshaft position sensor performance problem.
Runs crappy. Won't really rev. Pops out exhaust.
Resetting code doesn't solve it.
Did you have to do a relearn?
Was it a wiring problem?

Bringing this thread way back from the dead. Can you tell me how this was ever resolved please? You and vette_c5 have the same symptoms as I do.
Thank you!
