Default 05 C6 manual into a C5

I've searched and can't find an answer to this question. Will a 2005 C6 manual tranny fit into a C5 with little or no modification? I'm sure I'm just not looking properly. A link is fine. Or a discourse. Thanks

Yes, it is a direct bolt in as long as the 05 it came out of was not Z51 equipped. The 05 tranny has a better centering mechanism too. 06+ will not work, Z51 or not.

Thanks. Fartpipe called me and told me the same. I don't remember it well enough for someone to take this as gospel ok but you have to move a sensor on the 05 tranny. On 06 and up they require more work but apparently it's not too complicated. As least not for Fartpipe. He's a great guy by the way. Not nearly as gassy as you'd think.

On a 2006 and up you need to change the tailhousing and output shaft, or change your rear diff to a c6 style along with the rear k member and lower control arms. Either way will work, and there are a few wiring changes you need to make. Not rocket science, but it definitely isn't something for a novice.
