sticky clutch pedal. help
ok need some help with this one.
i have a 99 vette with 41k on it. z06 tranny.
ok, anyways.... lately i have noticed a bit of an intermittent problem with my clutch.
sometimes it seems sticky when i press it in and wait for it to disengage. though this is an intermittent problem and i cant seem to reproduce it.
the other day i was making a VERY spirited run the other day only to find it wouldnt allow for me to up shift into i think 6th. after i allowed the car to wind down so i could down shift, or match rpms with that gear it was fine and everything worked fine after that.
then a week or two later, i was on the interstate and i shifted and the clutch stuck to the floor. i actually had to use my foot to get underneathe and pry it back up. after that, no problems
just wondering what you think?
help?

Another possible cause of the problem is that your slave cylinder is showing signs of failure. It isn't too well-designed and gets exposed to a lot of heat. Do you know how old the slave is?
That should at least get you started.
My first signs started 2 weeks ago and i thought it was bad/old fluid and it did in fact look black so i flushed the system and did the whole bleeding process.
Problem went away for about a day and came back.
Now it BARELY engages and most of the time the pedal has to be pryed back up.
Turns out its the slave....
Get ready to fork over some serious coin to get the entire rear end, tranny and torque tube dropped to get to the $120.00 part. which fails.
While at it you might want to get the clutch done.
My lowest quote from a vette shop with a textralia clutch and flywheel will do about 1699 in damage to the christmas fund.
