Default Brake pads

Does anyone know if the front and rear pads are the same between the Coupe and Z06?

The rear pads are the same, but the front pads are different. The Z06 uses a different compound, similair to the Hawk pads which produces a bit more dust but provides better "bite" and less fade.

Thanks Falcon! So is it safe to use Z06 pads in front on a Coupe?

Yes it is safe! You will experience better stopping @ expense of more brake pad dusting.

I just installed Hawk HPS pads and they are great. Less dust than stock and great stopping power. I was looking at ceramics and decided to go with the HPS pads - no regrets.

PM me and I will tell who has the best prices on these. I was surprised at how competitively priced these high performance pads can be!

The good thing about the stock pads is they come as a kit and include new shims for the calipers and antisqueek lube.

Hawk HPS are GREAT pads. Low dust and better stopping than Z06 pads. They come with brake lube (which you also put on back of pads as antisqueek lube) . You can easily clean the shims with brake cleaner and paper towels.

Same fit, different pads. Go to "brakemotive" on ebay and get a whole set of slotted drilled rotors and ceramic pads for all four wheels for $265.00 free shipping, I got them and they are great.

Thanks for your post - sorry I had already bought and had my brakes installed. Just FYI, my front pads came out to $100.12 with the mechanic's discount. I guess that that was more along the lines of 30%... I do believe that I paid more for the rear pads though...
