Ok , I have a qustion that I should know the answer to but I dont.
How do you tell by looking at the vin. # what your vette has as far as susp. and other things. I have had my vette for about two years have just never really thought much about it untill I got on hear .I am thinking about doing some more to the car , it has a Corsa cat back and a CAI and a tune . I would just like to know a little more about the car itself though .I know its a dumb question but any help would be thankful.

Nope, there's nothing about options etc. in the vin #. Basically it's a production serial number. There are alot of websites that explain it if you do a google search.

The VIN itself does not have that information but can be used to find it out.

The Corvette Museum sells copies of the window stickers and build sheet that go with the car based on the VIN.

There also should be an options list inside the glove box door that gives you all the RPO codes for the car.

PM Sponge Vette, or email Gene Culley @ GMPartshouse and ask for a GM-VIS. Give them your Vin and they will give you the info you seek, and a lot of other good info.

Fill out your profile so we'll know what year your car is. The options list is not on the glove box lids on the earlier model C5's. It's on the rear driver's side compartment cover. At least when you ask a question, mention the year and body style Vette you have. Otherwise, you may get an answer that doesn't match up to your car.
For example, they don't all use the same key fobs, they don't all come with the same wheels, they haven't different antennas, etc.
