Broke a ring in my LS1....have bought a LS6 short block to use for the repair.
I can also get a set of LS6 heads for about $500.00. to replace the stock LS1 215s with. Do you think the potential gains are worth the costs or should I just use the stock heads? Car is Procharged if that makes a difference.
That's too much money, and LS6 heads will increase your compression. There are several sets of 317 heads for sale on LS1 Tech in the $300 range. They have a larger combustion chamber and are popular for boosted applications.
Appreciate the response...don't know a thing about these engines..I guess with a SC I need to keep the CR a lower and try to find a chamber that will allow more mixture to be pumped in by the SC?

The CR isn't that much different from I have been told. It doesn't really stop you from going with an SC, but it will limit the amount of boost you can run safely. I am running a Procharger P1SC with ported LS6 heads but currently only at 6 lbs.
