After installing an aftermarket 2DIN headunit (Alpine), using SVEN2 to maintain Bose system, and specific harness (...and a necessary modify of dash to installl everything) i have got another problem...
Everything seems to be OK, but there are sporadic electrical failures, like the return of seat when i open the door after switch off the car, ... but the most important and rare is that, when i turn the ignition switch to start up the car, i have to keep on turned 3 or 4 seconds before it starts up (the engine doesn´t move of course... there is no movement or electricity neither in the start up engine nor the normal engine) and then everything goes well and normal...
Does anybody knows what could be the problem??? Maybe an start up relay... electrical problem because of changing headunit...
I'd bet if you put a full charge on the battery, it will change. You will have to reset memory items if batt charge got low while you were doing your install.
I would guess that it has something to do with the way the head unit was wired in---The radio circuit also stays ON until you open the door--so maybe you are getting some feedback of power causing the seat to move back and the ignition to be confused-----LOL---Also--It's been my experience that trying to use aftermarket head units conected to the existing bose stuff never quite works out---there always seems to be problems--remember you have the 2 amps in the front door speakers and another amp in he dash that works the rear mids--i tried to do this exact same mod---and eventually removed ALL the Bose stuff--Installed a new amp--new 12" sub in the back--and al 4 new regular type speakers---Sold al the old bose stuff on E-B---Y and the net cost wasn't bad--less than $400 (used all sony Explod stuff)--
Hooked the head unit to the thick brown wire behind the key switch--NO problems--and it sounds 10 times better than before---
