Default Max lowering on rear bolts, remove bushing?

Is it okay to remove the top nut bushing in the rear bolts to get the max lowering height? I removed the front bolts all together and removed the top bushing on the rear bolts and left 2 threads showing. Will car settle more as I drive and will the removal of that bushing give me that almost extra inch of length? I have done searches but none have been really specific on the rear bolts. Thnx.

Not exactly sure about the rear bushing but I would have to guess it's not a good idea since most guys just get longer bolts in the rear. If removing the bushing in the rear was an option I would think we would hear it from time time. I have been in many many lowering threads over the last couple years as I did mine (in several steps) and never heard about cutting bushings in the rear as an option.

Just get longer bolts. 1/2" x 6.5 or 7" long will work fine. (and a couple locknuts to go with)

Thnx guys. I also read you can cut the rear bushings. If you can thread the bolt all the way to the end for lowering then no bushing or a cut one should give you a little more length, no? I'll try to get some pics when I get home too. Thnx again guys.

Well guys, I got some 6in bolts from work, cut the bushings added metal washers (over the poly bushings) and the car looks great. I used a 1/2x6 bolt, it was slightly longer than the stock bolt plus this one is threaded all the way to the top (about 2in of thread) unlike the stock one which leaves a 1/2in tip with no thread. This allowed me to add a second nut on top as a jam nut. I took the car to San Diego yesterday with no issues, other than a bumpy ride. The bolts are grade 5 which should be more than strong enough for this application but I still plan on reaming out the bushings so I can use a heavy duty 5/8in bolt which does in fact fit. Im having a hard time posting pix here so here is a link.
