Default Comments about the 1997-2002 Corvette Intercooled Procharger Systems

:smash:

I'm intrigued by this system's 535 @7psi numbers for 6k, but I'm worried that it might cause damage to stock trimmed LS1.

Am I paranoid? Comments for those interested or that have already installed the beast. Also is the 6k installed?

blurb:
This industry-leading new intercooled supercharger system creates 535 horsepower with 7 psi of highly efficient intercooled boost. The self-contained P-1SC-1 Procharger and twin highflow intercooler system together produce the coolest charge air temperatures and greatest reliable power gains, as well as largest hp gains per pound of boost. In addition to the standard 7 psi pulley, a 5 psi pulley (which produces 490 hp) is also available. The system is 100% complete, including a customized power programmer for computer modifications, and a set of 38 lb/hr fuel injectors. This system is also upgradeable to even higher power levels, as both the P-1SC-1 Procharger and twin highflow intercooler system are capable of supporting in excess of 750 horsepower. For those with highly modified motors and or wishing to do custom tuning, the intercooled Serpentine Race Kit includes the D-1SC Procharger and Excludes the power programmer and fuel injectors, but is otherwise identical to the HO Intercooled System.

The price is NOT installed that for sure..
I belive my car is the first one with this system (I have not seen any other anyway), but many is on the way both stock and modifed LS1's.
How much your modified engine can take depends of course of what you have done with it and it's condition in general.

I guess noe one will know how it will hold together before some time has passed.
I will atleast try my best to post how mine solution runs.

Go to ls1tech.com or ls1.com and check out what the fbody guys have to say about this system. Blackta I think is his screen name posts a ton on his experiences with the system. He has run it up to 10 psi on a bone stock long block.

You can usually safely run 9# of boost an a stock LS1 without any problems. Of course when you add that amount of horsepower anything can happen but we have many customers running supercharged LS1s with over 30,000 miles with no problem.

The price that we have listed for this kit doesn't include installation.

I would start grtting paranoid around the 525-550 rrwhp area, anything higher than that I would opt for a Lunatti bottom end and maybe some balancing and blue printing. This way you know it will stand up to the stresses put down below. You may also look into a stanless race intake and an Inconel exhaust valve, titanium retainers and balancing of the rotating mass on your valve train not super expensive stock LS6 or 6.0 liter truck heads and LS6 intake along
with a good medium/long tube header and a nice free flow exhaust and I would guess you would have your basses covered. You may want to look to Lingenfelter his heads have all the parts mentioned and his experience with blown motors is GREAT.David S.PS
I would check my comression as the Lunattis have an extensive menu alot does depend on condition of motor but at 7500 miles in perfect shape all engines have a break point. My LPE TT 427 puts out 8xx bhp and I Know that LPE has put stock adjustable boost motors with stock bottom ends in them pushing in excess of 7xx bhp and many miles later there still running strong on 13 Lbs. of double intercooled boost not for the faint of heart but these motors are cast not forged and even with 6 bolt mains they do have weak spots and no 2 are alike.David
