Default LS2 Heads ( Bolts and Gaskets)

I am installing LS2 heads in my 2000 C5. Do I need different head gaskets and bolts than normal for a 2000 LS1? Thanks.

No, you'll use standard LS1 stuff.

I just installed dart pro1 heads on my ls1. The dart chambers are quite wide so it was recommended to use the ls2 head gasket. I suspect you should do the same thing as the ls1 head gasket will probably shroud the ls2 combustion chamber.

LS2 heads are the same as LS6 heads (243 castings).

Use 2001+ LS1 MLS gaskets, and 97-03 LS1 head bolts.

I'm confused on the situation, lol, because some of my customers have purchased the LS2 gaskets for this and some have purchased the MLS... so who knows!

Either should work fine when used on a LS1 engine..

The LS2 gaskets will have a larger bore dia,, since the LS2 engine has a 4" bore vs the 3.9" LS1 bore. .

You can use a larger bore gasket on the smaller bore engine, but not the other way around. (LS1 gaskets will not work on a LS2).

Ok. I have a set gaskets for the 97-01. Will these be ok or do I need the 02-04 parts? Appreciate all the replies.
