Made the decision to go with the MGW shifter. I have a 2004 Z06. Should I stick with the one for the C5 or is there an advantage using the one for a C6?
The C5 and C6 use the same shifter base and lower handle. The C5 upper handle is straight and threaded for the C5 type ****. The C6 upper handle is offset about an inch and is set up for the C6 style ****. I have heard that you can order the C6 handle threaded as well. If I had it to do over I would order the C6 handle threaded which would move the handle to the rear. Either way you go, I'm sure you'll love the MGW.
The shifter I got from MGW is offset in that there's a straight piece about 4-6" high then another piece that bolts onto it and is offset about an inch that the ball screws onto. It's not straight up like I've seen in pictures. Is this the C5 or C6 shifter?

That is the C6 upper handle. It will work fine in the C5, actually provides a better location IMO.
