From what I understand, the top idler pulley is different from the original one installed at the factory. If you install them yourself, be careful not to over tighten.
I am confused. When you say the whole assembly you are talking about the pulley wheel and the spring loaded arm mount? You are saying there is a replacement for just the pulley wheel?
I don't know if you can get a repl for the pulley itself. When I had my sc, I had belt slip issues so I upgraded to the LS2 tensioner. But for some reason, the pulley would not line up and my belt kept slipping. So I took the pulley off the old tensioner and put it on the newer tensioner. I did this while the tensioner was still on the car. The pulley is attached to the tensioner with like a 15mm bolt. If you just need the pulley, I think I have mine somewhere. You can have it for whatever it cost to ship it if that is all you think you need. Let me know. Hope this helps.

Yes, the pulley itself can be replaced without replacing the entire tensioner assembly. You can check on them on the Advanceautoparts.com or Autozone.com site.
