98 C5 has anybody installed either of the 2, someone told me it would be good for the life of the tranny (heavy duty shift kit and b and m tranny cooler?
any drawbacks >?
Any information will be greatly appreciated!
thanks tony
Cooler is a great addition and will prolong trans life. Shift kit isnt needed tune the PCM with an experienced technician and your shifting will be incredible. Eventually upgrade trans components pump clutch planetary the A4 is fantastic
You can monitor the trans temps on the DIC. I'd only consider a cooler if you do have high temps, above 210 or so, or go to the track. Otherwise may be a waste of time. The over heating warning does not come on until after 250.
Shift kit, forget it. Even a mail order tune will make the A4 shift better.
And if you decide on a cooler be sure to plumb it to go through the B&M 1st, then through the one in the radiator. (B&M out to radiator in
) That way during cold weather the radiator cooler acts as a pre-warmer to keep the fluid from getting too cold.
