Steal rusts no matter what especially when the pad and heat attacks the surface coating. It would be nice to see a stainless steel unit someday!

Hate to tell you, but stainless steel is one of the worst materials to make brake rotors out of. The frictional coeficient of stainless steel with a lot of chromium in it is very poor. The rotors will not shead heat as well also. You would rear end the first car you approached at high speed at a stop light.
Street Motorcycles stop like crap because of stainless rotors. Every time the bike makers try to drop the chromium content in rotors, owners complain their rotors are rusting. A race bike would never use street rotors.
