I have begun my modding of my car and have a new intake system on the way. My next move is to the exhaust. Since I just dropped a bag of money on the car I am taking it easy for a few weeks. I am, however, ready to buy an exhaust improvement. I have read that a cat back exhaust will give good hp gains, and have also read that it will not give hp gains and just give better sound. (I have decided that when I buy a catback it will be the Corsa touring.) I have read that headers will give as much as 25hp and as little as 8-9hp. If you were in my situation what would you buy for now realizing that you would get both within a couple months. Also my plan for this car by the middle of this summer is to have a SC on it with around 500rwhp. thanks in advance for any suggestions. :)
Re: Corsa catback exhaust or Tpis LT headers? (Horsepower)
If you want power gains, I would suggest the Long Tube headers. If you want sound, looks and a bit of performance then I would suggest going for the cat-back exhaust system.
If you decide on the exhaust system, drop me an email for a great price.
If you are not set on TPIS headers and want to explore some other long tube options, drop me an email as well.
Re: Corsa catback exhaust or Tpis LT headers? (Buckmaster)
Just did my TTS headers and the sound is much louder than before. I have the A&A exhaust mod and now at WOT it sounds awesome. Of course I'm still hiding money from the wife for my Corsa Indys. ;)
Re: Corsa catback exhaust or Tpis LT headers? (jeffh355)
Mine actually sounds a little mellower at low-mid RPM's, and screams like a banshee at WOT! The H-pipe that comes with the TPIS helped I think. Listen to Matt on the headers though...although I'm pleased for the money, I would have spent more for others.
Re: Corsa catback exhaust or Tpis LT headers? (Horsepower)
I would wait and do the whole exhaust system at once; longtubes, high flow cats, x-pipe, exhaust. That way when you get the supercharger your exhaust will be ready.
