Well, after I have not touch my car for a good month or more my battary was drained completelly.
It took my dad to keep his track with jumper cables to run on high revs for good 10 minutes before I could start my vette.
After I drove it for about 20-30 miles battery has recharged and worked fine, well at least I able to start it in the morning without any problems. However, battery charge needle and DIC showes 14.1-14.5 Amp instead of usual 13.0. Also before the battery drainage I used to see little green dot on the battery "life window" and now it is gone. Could you explain to me why is it charging more then it used to be (I was driving it for couple of days now and it is still charging 14.5)? And why do I not see the green dot anymore?
The voltmeter reads high since the battery has been drained. Try using a battery charger for at least a day and check the current draw on the charger meter to see if it ever drops down.
Edgar, often when a battery is completely discharged it suffers some damage and will not hold a charge as well as before. The green eye only shows the condition of one of the cells and it (that cell) could be damaged or have diminished capacity do the the discharge event.
The first thing I would do is put a charger on it (driving for 20 or 30 miles won't completely recharge it) and see if it will take a full charge or take it somewhere and get it tested..
SF, I am thinking that the Optima would be the way to go to. THey have them at Costco for the cheapest price in town. They even have them with a Yellow top!!

Thanks!
You still may have some damage but 14.4 to 14.5 is within range for normal charging. 13.0 would result in a dead battery and give you no charge at all.
Wow they have Yellow Optima in Costco? Any specifications I have to know before I go and shop for new battery? I mean how will I know that this is exactly my battery and not Ford Mustang?

The Yellow Top does not work well, unless you constantly drain the battery, or go long periods without a recharge. I've heard most people replace the YellowTops every year or so with daily use. Most people are using the RedTop Optima for everyday use.
