Default F45 shock replacement?

I have looked at alot of threads on this subject. But I still have a couple of questions. I have a 98 with the select ride control and I want to go with ZO6 shocks. I know I have to have someone with a Tech II to delete it so I will not have codes. My questions are can I just do the shocks, and will the C6 ZO6 shocks work, and does anyone know of a how to website to show me how to do the shocks? Thanks for your help.

there is a shock thred about using zip-ties on here. The guy goes step by step with pictures, a very nice write up. There is another thred about using a resister on the shock sensors. A diy that is cheaper than the dealership.

The C6Z shocks work great! The install is easy follow the thread referenced above. I got my F45 deleted at a service station costs $50 imho better than resistors as it is fixed for good and as it should be. To delete just print out the procedure and take with to any service station that has tech2. You will love the difference and the price aint bad either

do a search for "F45 delete". You DO NOT need anything turned off, removed, retuned or modified. You need 4 10 ohm 10 watt wire wound resistors ( from radio shack) to solder in to the wires that go to the top of the old F45 shocks. Solder them the in , zip tie them to the chassis out of the way and install the new shocks That's it.Garanteed.

Used the Radio Shack resistors a yr ago. No probs.
Make sure you wrap the resistors after installed in a waterproff material to keep water out.

I put ZO6 shocks on my 97 and used simulators that plugged into the existing F45 sensors.
That was two years ago and it has worked great. . .

A couple guys are going with the F-55 set up. It cost $3K, but you get a comfy ride for cruising and firm ride for performance
