Clutch Disc Question
Replacing the clutch slave cylinder on my son's LS1 04 GTO. The car has 45,000 miles. Pressure plate, disc and flywheel look good. Clutch disc is .340" thick.
Anyone know the thickness of a new disc? If the clutch is good for another 40,000 iles..most likely will put off replacing. If is less than 50% of it's life, most likely will replace. Thanks

Did some more research, seems most new discs are .360"-.370" for LS cars w/6 speeds. So with .340" on our disc, we put the car back together with the existing clutch. Save that $500 for another day. Finished the car last night, runs like it should. One note, I would recommend a remote bleeder for this and other GM cars with slave cylinders. Has to make bleedig easier !!!
