Default po161/160

wanted to see if anyone had any ideas....

I have a 2002 coupe that I bought with long tubes and full exhaust already on the car. I prevously had a code for the b2 s1 o2 sensor and found that the o2 sensor extender harness was burned. I replaced this harness, and that code has not come back.

Now I have a code po161 and sometimes it will set a po160 instead. this is for the b2 s2 o2 sensor. The car has o2 sensor simulators on it, and I thought the one for b2s2 may have been bad. I had an extra simulator at home, ( that I thought was good) and I have replaced the simulator with this one...

The code just came back on (again) last night....

I have gotten very good with pulling codes with the DIC and clearing them....

Any one have any ideas?

When you replaced the sim....which side did you change?

Remember, the rear 02 wiring crosses, so you should have swapped the sim that's plugged in on the left side of the car. (because this connector originally went to the right rear sensor, which is the circuit causing the code).

Either way, what I would do right now is swap the sims, side to side, and see if the codes follow the sim (would then show a P0140/141), or remain the same.

might be some new info for me....

the sims are strapped up close to the engine near the front o2 sensor harness connectors.

So let me know if I get this right.

on the drivers side of the car the 2 connectors up there are for b1 s1 and for b2 s2?
and on the pass side, b1 s2 and b2 s1?

is that right? or did I not understand you completely....

thanks...
