Default Plastic End links Vs Metal ..?

I have an 01 Z and I noticed recently that my rear sway bar end links are some plastic nonsense that the boots are ripped open and is completely dirty and looks like it serves no purpose. Now I read online that the 00-01 models have these plastic end links....I found some metal end links online for $99 but my question is are these an upgrade? Is there a performance upgrade that will effect the suspention?
How will this effect my ride if any?

Thanks!

Yes the metal end links will be a significant upgrade, with the plastic links they tend to flex and bend when making sharp turns so they are better in the long run.
Go to Gene culley (a forumn sponser) and you'll get a good deal on the end links.

You likely won't notice any difference in ride or performance...but the metal links are definitely an improvement from an integrity standpoint.

Many people over the years have looked under there cars to find the plastic ones broken, sheared in half.

Someone had to have changed them at some point. All 02+ vettes have metal ones. My 01Z had plastic ones.

Stock, on the 2000 FRC/Z51, has metal on the front swaybar, plastic on the rear. The front ones are steel, not aluminum. Aluminum came later, 2002?
