Since you're asking this question I'm assuming that you aren't a professional driver, in which case I would leave it in comp. mode.

For the street, I would recommend not racing.

For the track, I would recommend using Comp Mode.

When you say track, what kind of track are you talking about? Road course or quarter mile?

You should use comp mode which (if it calibrates quickly enough) could possibly save your butt if the back end starts to break loose. The problem is calibration of the system. After engine start the car has to be driven in a straight line above 6 mph for a couple hundred feet for the system to determine where straight ahead is. At a number of the strips I have been to the staging lanes make it hard to complete the calibration before you get to the starting line. Unless you get it calibrated before getting to the staging lanes and then keep the engine running. If it isn't calibrated you will get a Active Handling Warming Up message followed by a Warm Up Complete message on the DIC while you are running down the strip. While the system is warming up it isn't working.
