Default front cold air license plate

I have front cold air screen on the car, but i need more air to lower the temp in the summer time. Can i remove the radiator shrout completely or cut an opening so more air get to the radiator? will this mod hurt or help me? Thanks

The C5/Z06 is a bottom breather. If you remove the shroud, you'll ruin the engineering of the cooling system.
You might consider a change in the coolant system by increasing the size of the radiator, changing the on/off settings of the fan(s), or a thermostat change.
Doing the latter only by itself probably won't do you much good. A combination of the fan settings and the thermostat is what owners usually do to lower their temperatures to what they think is better.
The LSx motors were designed to run hotter than motors of yesteryear.
So, keep in mind that doing some of this might adversely effect your oil temperatures and engine wear in cooler seasons.
But, it's your car to do with as you please...

Why do you need to lower the coolant temp in the summer time? Are you getting coolant temps over 200 when driving down the road at 55 mph? Even after sitting in traffic for an hour with coolant temps around 239 degrees once you hit the highway the coolant temp should drop down to about 200 within a couple of miles.

If your temps are above those noted above when on the highway make sure the spoiler is in place under the car. This piece is very important as it directs the air up into the radiator cavity. If it isn't in place the air is bypassing the radiator. You should also check to make sure road debris isn't blocking the A/C condenser. Since the cars are bottom breathers a lot of junk can get swept up into the condenser. The seals between the shroud and the condenser should be in good shape as well. If they are pushed out into the engine compartment cooling air will bypass the condenser and radiator.

Thanks Guys, I have exact problem as Bill described, and will check for the seals thing. I have this problem since i have new motor (C5R454) installed. In the summer time i don't like to drive my car that much because i can't even enjoy driving it. I can't turn AC while cruising because it causes the temp to go up 23ish, i don't even think about in traffic. Thanks
