Default Painted Gauge bezels installed!

So I was kicking around the idea of installing some bezels and while shopping for them I ran across West Coast Corvette's web site and saw they offered them for a C6. I liked them so much I ended up ordering a set from RPI Designs and painting them my self! I installed them yesterday. I think with me taking a little time it only took me about an 1 1/2 hours to complete this. I never had my cluster out but that has got to be one of the easiest I have ever removed!! As far as painting them I did that myself. Mag Red II base and 72200 clear. All DuPont products.

Looks GREAT. I would have thought that would be an all day job. Is there a link to get the directions to get the gauge cluster out? Please share.

The red ring on the tach looks about 1/4 inch short where it meets the speedometer. Any way to compensate for that?

Nice Mod

Very good detailed instructions came with the bezels, I mean very detailed!

The tach bezel was little short but so were the oil psi & Volt gauges. I just put them on dry first for fit and you have to determine which end you want the gap on. The directions even tell you this. Honestly I didnt realize I slid that one so far but I'm not taking it apart to move it now

So I went out and took a real hard look at the tach ring this morning. It is actuall about a 1/8" from touching the speedo. What makes it stand out is bezel is cut flat. you could take the time to file it to fit really close to the speedo if you wanted. Mine were all ready painted before I took out the cluster.

Not a big deal --- really looks GREAT. I would like to see the instructions describing how to get the gauge cluster out of the dash. Can you put them on this thread or Email me a copy. I want to see what is involved. I'm always nervous when it comes to taking the dash apart.

Thanks

That looks real nice.

I installed a set (unpainted) in mine a few years back. Love the look. For those looking for good instructions on removing the guage cluster, Vette Essentials used to have a good writeup on this procedure. Not sure if it is still on there site though.
