I have searched the forums and found many threads on sway bar upgrades. I have a 03 with MSRC and while the car handles well and rides nicely it does seem to waffle a bit when I put it into a corner. It actually handles quite like my 74. I do not think that there is anything wrong with the suspension but that this is a result of the setup (for comfort).
I think that a sway bar upgrade would help to sharpen the handling. I would like input from forum members who have upgraded and would like to know:
Your impressons of the car's handling before mods.
The mods you made.
The changes that these mods made.
This is not a track car and I am not trying to get it to push 1g in turns but rather sharpen the handling so it feels more set in corners.
Car felt rather "sloppy" to me before upgrades. I wasn't worried about the ride becoming to harsh since this is supposed to be a sprots car, I wanted it to behave like one.
Mods:
Added Bilstein Sport Shocks. Suspension became a little stiffer.
Added Hotchkiss sway bars. Car had less body roll when turning.
Added a 1/4 tunnel plate. Car frame flexes less and forces suspension mods to do their job. The plate made a noticable improvement.
