If I replace my Stock Catalytic Converters with High Flow Converters will I get the dreaded 0430 and 0420 codes? All indications are that my stock cats are shot. I am getting the 0430 and 0420 codes. I replaced my rear 02 Sensors, but that did not cure the issue, I’m still getting the codes. So I figured replace the cats. A friend recommended going with the High Flows, but I’ve read on this forum issues with the Long Tube headers and High Flow cats resulting in having the rear 02 sensors tuned out/off. I would prefer not to have the 02’s tuned out or install 02 simulators. My 99 FRC is stock w/33K miles, Halltech Stinger, BBK Shortie Ceramic coated headers, Bassani X-Pipe and Cat Back.
more than likely you will set a 420/430 with aftermarket cats and rear o2 sensors.
from the sound of your post, I would suggest replacing the factory cats with another set. try to find someone close who is installing headers and buy their used factory cats.
