are you cutting that one section of the block then with the LS6 pan?
Well, I didnt plan on cutting my block with a sazall or anything. I was under the impression the difference was the LS6 pan was vented in the front. By your response Im thinking that was wrong.
I thought it would just be a little trim on the right side.
well i'm not saying there isn't another way.i just remember that when i was doing my build i was gonna do the LS6 pan but didn't because i didn't want to cut at all. Maybe it will work... sorry i didn't mean to second guess i just remembered seeing that somewhere.

No, Im glad you pointed that out. I didnt realize how much had to be cut off the block, not sure I want to do that either. It doesnt look like it will affect the integrity of the block but ehhhh I dont like it.
ls1howto.com is no longer up BUT i have a link that WILL work for that site click below and then look on the right list that has the LS6 PCV conversion i would do the cutting but i just didn't have the stones at the time to do it. tape it off real good and cover everything around the area and cut. You could also have a shop vac running full time right next to it as you cut also too suck up MOST of the material http://web.archive.org/web/200710120....ls1howto.com/

Today I was looking at the coils and valve covers. I have the old style perimeter valve covers and updated to the newer style center bolt heads. I know there was a few guys that have wondered if the coils from old style would bolt on to the new style brackets. Yes, they will but you just need to flip the last coil upside down. Also noticed the new brackets are not threaded where the coils bolt on. I have to run out and get some fasteners for coils.
Its always something....
There it is, mounted the old perimeter style coils on new brackets and center bolt valve covers. I bought some stainless fasteners and as I stated earlier, had to flip the last coil upside down. At least I didn't freeze.
So check this out. I was at work the other day talking to a co-worker about car stuff. He had bought a 1971 , I think, Cougar convertible a couple of years back and told me it had nitrous. He said he took the nitrous off as soon as he got the car home. I asked him what he did with the tanks. Just sitting in my garage, you want them? Ahhhhh hell yeah! I have a tank the same size as the one on the left so I can have two matching tanks. Thinking about having them painted.
This is a pic of the two tanks he gave me. Nice gift huh?
