I noticed that my heat/cool adjustment unit in the center of the dash (below the radio) is dim at times. Lately it has bothered me and I give it an occasional tap or two. That actually helps for awhile and it brightens up similar to the radio indicator.
Any ideas on this? Thanks!
Common issue that's been addressed many times. Check out the Ultimate DIY sticky thread here in Tech or do a quick search on it.
I'm not that computer savvy to find and post a link,,but there are some good DIY threads that leas you step by step on how to get it out and re-solder the chips. Loose connections are the culprit. An easy fix!!
Follow Fasthotrod advice use that link, same thing wrong with mine, followed the link now everything working fine.Check all the button lights to make sure they are working,if not you can replace the LED's while you have it out. Good luck it is not that hard of a job.
Yep ,,that's the one I used(mine was like the ops,the 2 rows)!Works like a champ now,,and it didn't take all that long !!Go for it!!! I gotta learn how to post link!!
Hey , thanks everyone for the ideas and suggestions. It still looks kind of involved, and unless mine gets much worse I had better leave well enough alone!
Definately try the fix, whether you do it yourself or have somebody fix it. Chances are it will solve your problem with $0 in parts. Beats the heck out of paying for a new or used controller.
I did mine myself, it is very easy. Make sure you do the soldering work on a flat bench that is not cluttered in case one of the resistors falls off it will make it easy to find. Wouldn't recommend doing the work in the car itself, too many places for those little punks to fall and get lost forever.
