GM/Getrag Z06 Diff Question....
Recently I had some friends insist that the Z06 GM/Getrag 3:42 Diff (from GM Parts) already has hardened output shafts.
I had always thought this was something you would have to upgrade yourself prior to install.
Is this
???

The only difference that I knew of was that the Z diff had the shot peened case and the base 3:42 diff did not??? But the hardned output shafts? Hmmmm....

The factory C5 Z06 differential had a shot peened ring and pinion. The shafts used in all C5 corvettes were the same.
