Default oil pressure pegged

OK CF readers , my oil pressure is pegged out so of course I need a new sending unit. I have two questions , do I need to remove the intake to replace it or can I get to it without doing that, not going to cut anything to get to it. Also is a GM switch ok or do you guys prefer some other brand of switch. I guess I should also throw in that its a 02 coupe 6 speed and I also have the use of a lift at work. Thanks for any advice

Yes, you have to remove the intake unless you cut out a section of the cowl. I went the remote mount way with the Buick sensor. It's a pricey way to go but if it ever quits again it's a 5 minute fix.

No, the intake gaskets are "rubber o-rings" and can be re-used.

You will need a very "low" torque wrench final for intake bolts. 44 INCH-lbs (first pass) and 89 INCH-pounds (final pass), read INCH not FOOT.

Thanks for the advice and the help. I have both a in. lb and ft.lb. wrench so that wont be a problem. once again thanks for the help everyone and the specs.
