Default Torque Converter question

I have a '98 A4 and was looking at this for a converter. It is a rebuilt Yank Torque Converter - 2600 Stall. What would be a good price for this converter?

Would this work well with a cam with these specs and 3.42's

The specs on the Whiplash cam are:
236/242 .601/.610 111+3

Will I need a external tranny cooler? I would think so but what size should I be looking at?

Mods are long tubes, x-pipe, Ti's, twin cone air filter, and soon the cam and rear.

Thanks guys.

With that cam you will need at least a 3200 stall, the 2600 will not be enough especially with the 111 Lobe center.
Thanks guys.
Depending on your driving and what you have the Vette intended for you might need one!

But if you are not using it on the track (Willow Springs) then you should be fine and not need an external cooler.

Mine does not get hot even in the summer time and going on long trips - see sig below for my mods.

I'd get a new YANK 3200 stall and you'll be set, I would not go above a 3600 for street driving!

Thanks,Matt

Default I gota Yank Stealth 2800 I'll sale

I have a Yank Stealth 2800 which I bought new and ran about 100 miles. I didn't like the loose feel of a higher stall converter and took it out. If your interested.

If you do a lot of stop and go or under 42mph driving or WOT then you will need a trans cooler. Over about 42mph the converter locks and produces little to no heat, so for hiway driving you should be great.
