Hey guys the search function isn't working so I just had a few questions. Are there any gains to porting and polishing stock heads on an LS6 engine. The current mods are a vararam, catback, tune, and stat. I plan to do a cam in the future as well. I know a reputable head guy with a flow bench and all. Just wondering what the gains are and if this will actually help a cam when I install one down the road.

You can gain a lot from a properly ported set of LS6 head. It all depend on how long you want to wait and the price you want to pay for the port work. I am running a set of Ls6 heads done by Larry Meaux. They are top notch and feeding my 383 very well.
Are u guys gaining with a aftermarket cam too or ust with stock cam? op wants only to port now and cam later. Send it to totalengineairflow.com and no body else for porting as thiers ultimate without breaking bank.
I am still waiting to hear on gains without doing a cam now and then doing one later.
I don't want to say for sure, but the local guy is willing to do around 600 for ported heads. He is up and coming in NY and has had much experience on more hundreds of cars.
