Default Borla or Corsa?

I own a stock 98 coupe. Im about to put some aftermarket parts on it. I want a loud exhaust, I was told corsa is the way to go and that borla is louder but youll get some drone. I would like to go with the louder exhaust but im looking for opinions on how bad the drone is.

I had Borla Stingers and the drone is pretty bad, but I had LT's and no cats. So I dont know how bad the drone would be on stock manifolds and cats. I loved the way mine sounded, very nice deep sound. Good Luck with your purchase

I have the Corsa indy and I love them. No drone and whey you want them to roar they will. I have also heard the stingers are louder with more drone but they have more of a deeper muscle car sound vs. the exotic sound of the corsa.

That's like asking for steak or fish since those two exhausts are polar opposites. I suggest browsing YouTube.

Everything I have read above is very accurate, I really like my Corsa, no drone. I would have liked the Borla if I was still 21 but not now for a daily driver.

See my sig for mods...

My Borla is a loud son of a B!

If I could do it again I would get the Corsa Indy Pace Car. Love the way it sounds.

From personal experience, I will tell you that Borla are much louder than the Corsa. I helped install Borla in 3 Vettes - each with a different set-up (A4 w/2.73 diff, A4w/3.15 diff and M6 w/3.42 diff). There were the dreaded drone in all of the cars, but the least noticeable was the manual tranny. I had the A4 w/3.15 and the drone was so bad, I switched them for the Corsa Touring (even after I sound proof the cabin). The Borla look like coffee cans compare to the Corsa. The Touring is about a step up from stock, and the Corsa Pace Car is louder. I would suggest that you hookup with other Vette owners during your local GTG and personally experience the decimal level from inside the cabin as well as from the outside area (hearing both from the idle mode and at WOT). However, with the Borla’s … you can definitely hear your car coming down the street, even at normal driving.

On a side note: I had heard that the GHL are louder than the Corsa Pace, but not as loud as the Borla and w/o the drone.

I went with the Corsa Touring. I have AR Headers and plan to get a H/C package soon. Mine is a daily driver and I wouldn't have been able to tolerate much drone. I still have a nice rumble and it screams at WOT.

I still think I might have a need to install cut-outs for when I want to be obnoxious.

I'm happy with my Corsa set up but you should go to a Vette meet somewhere and hear them for yourself then decide.
