OMG that bitch better be sleeved something severe cuz biggest ls1 I have seen was 427 and I still think that is borrowed time
Yep it has special "deck plates" with its own longer sleeves that raise the deck from 9.24 to 10.200". 4.202 bore with a 4.5" stroke (and it keeps the piston skirts safely up in the bore!

i'd rather run 200mph N/A then blown or juiced. I don't trust either of them...
All that means is you don't understand how either works. Forced Induction (turbo, supercharger, Nitrous) are all the SAME thing, adding more O2 than the engine could draw in on it's own-PERIOD! It's up to you (and your computer) to realize that (with a Wideband O2 sensor) and adjust the fuel so you don't get too lean under boost. As long as you keep boost pressure "reasonable" where you don't pop head gaskets, FI is VERY safe. Much easier to do today than in the old days. In the pre-computer world you had to tune for boost and the car ran bad the rest of the time becuase you removed timing and were running rich all the time. With today's controls, you would never know what was under the hood till you stabbed it.
really because i'm pretty sure i ran a 125 shot in my '96 Z28, so i know a little I've owned 2 FI cars(supercharged) and the Z28 that was juiced. Although it was easy power i just didn't carefor the damage that it CAN cause. If you have a weak point in an engine boost or juice will find it and exploit it. I know if you don't over boost or spray too much of a shot you should be fine especially if tuned. But if your doing a 200+mph run i wouldn't go boosted is all i'm saying. But that's just me. By all means, if the o/p wants cheap power and quick juice will do it. Boost is a little bit more expensive but i honestly think a N/A setup is a safer way to do it. Just my own opinion....

Not to be a buzzkill, but where and what road/surface would you be able to do the...uh...testing at? Getting a C5 to power out to 200mph on paper is great, but you still need alot of road to get there, but importantly, to stop. Plus, a stock bodied C5 would be somewhat unstable at 200mph without any aero or downforce considerations.
Or you could buy a Canadian Vette and go over 200 with stock power (km/h that is). That's why I love the mertic system. The magic number for us is 300 (km/h), which is quite a bit less than the magic 200mph for most of you. Cheers!
Gonna run the Maxon mile Apr. 4&5 in my 03 Z/06 stock ex for 4:11 gear,as I understand a gear like that will hurt ultimate top end but standing start mile blast will gear hurt or help? any aerodynamic's ,taping openings in front of car ,lowering, I read in Hot Rod mag. a while ago outside mirrors are aero drag if so, has anybody removed them ,seems like it may be a little bit of work. I apoligize to the orig poster didn't mean to jump on your thread but since you got the attention of guys that have run/or know about going fast on top end, those that have been there/done that give the best advice
