I have a 2003 A4 bone stock with 64,000 miles and something strange is happening with the transmission. If I floor it off a stop, get it to about 50 mph or so, then abruptly let up on the gas, (happened yesterday because I thought I saw a cop), then when I went to step on the gas again, the car froze (the revs went up a little) and wouldn't move forward as if the transmission was confused and didn't know what to do. About 2 seconds later, the car started moving forward. Has anyone experienced this before and does it sound like the tranny is going out? I haven't been too hard on the car and have never been to the dragstrip with it. If I had to guess, I probably have about 50-60 full throttle runs on it.
Do us a favor and check the codes and see what comes up!
It almost sounds like you had the REDUCED POWER or ABUSE MODE come on. The tranny will go into ABUSE mode in something similar to this. You can have a tuner tune the sensativity out of it or lessen the ABUSE Mode
I'm not at my PC so I can't take a look at my settings on the HP Tuners. Check the codes and see what story they tell

Thanks,Matt
I'll check the codes tonight and see what comes up. This has been the third time it came up. If I drive the car normally, it shifts fine.
