If I lowered my 04 Z on stock bolts(max), would it have a negative affect on the suspension. I absolutely do not want to do anything to the car that would put any added pressure on the suspension. I'm leaning towards coilovers because it's the best way to lower the car, but stock bolts are free.
I lowered mine all the way on the stock bolts (as did TONS of other people in here). Didn't change the ride or handling at all. Navigating driveways is a bit trickier though. I also cut about 1" off the scraper on the bottom.
But common sense tells me there's no extra weight (added pressure) on the springs reguardless of length of the bolt between the A arm and the spring.
However the shock will be compressed more than normal which will limit the amount of travel and could possibly bottom out quicker. I think the bilstein shocks are 1" shorter which helps.
I would go with the coil overs if you can swing it.
